...that I have been EXTREMELY lazy about my blogging career. But I must say I have legit reasons as to why:
a) school (complete with honors & AP classes) has been taking up all my extra time
b) racing and training has been using up my hours
c) when i do actually have time, I've been trying to catch up on sleep/recov.
But finally my 757 homie has kicked in the the arse and told me to rise up from the bad habit and put a post up for ole time's sake. So I've decided to do a nice and short write up about my latest adventures...
Starcrossed & Rad Cup...was extremely difficult(and MUDDY). It was my first cross races of the season and I only had about a week of riding in the legs, wasnt quite the smartest idea since I didnt do very well. But I still had a lot of fun with my Redline teammates on their home ground and I am very very thankful for all that they have done for me. And I really have to thank my team manager, Tim Rutledge, for taking very well care of me that weekend.

Local SoCalCross Racing...it was good to be back home after a hard weekend out of my element. I raced Psycho-Cross in Costa Mesa, a nice very dry and fast course that was a lot of fun with whoops and all.
Junior National Talent ID Camp @ the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO...was a load of fun! This was my second year being invited and I learned soooo much and had probably some of the best fun of the year here. I made some great memories with old and new friends! At the end of it I would not have been able to even get to the OTC without the help of the USADF
Back to Local SoCalCross Racing...after all the fun and missing school for the OTC I had to come back home to reality and catch back up on school work and get back into the cross mode. The weekend after the OTC I raced Storm The Beach, it was probably the most intense cyclocross race I've ever done. It was at Camp Pendleton and all on the beach, which ment LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of SAND! Which also meant it was going to be hard and dirty! I won by a hard fought hair, but it was well worth it.
Six days later, after the sandfest, SoCal's first twilight cyclocross race took place, Bike Religion's Spooky Cross! It was the most fun at a cross race I have ever had! The course was INCREDIBLE! I was in LOVE with the course the night! Everything was soo smooth and flowy, all thanks to CHUCK MORRIS for such an awesome course! The course totally reminded me of the 2nd year of nationals at Providence! AMAZING! I put the hammer down and I was all into winning it!
The next weekend after my favorite cross course ever was Convert Cross in Ventura. It was a bit of a drive but it was well worth it! On the drive over the rain was just pouring down like crazy! I know right! It NEVER rains in socal!! Well it actually did, and I was hoping for some mud, but the sun came out and dried it all up. I raced a little bit more conservatively since I was starting to come down with the annual cold, and I still managed a win.
And the long awaited, UCI DAM CROSS was the next weekend! For this race I was lucky enough to have my Redline team travel south to the lovely weathered SoCal. Chad & Kristi Berg, Ryan Iddings, and Russell Stevenson were my Redline teammates who came down for some SoCal UCI cross racing! And along with the team was our trusty mechanic Smokin' Joe Sandshulte and our ever-loving team manager Tim Rutledge! I was so grateful to have them down here and get a taste of what I race every weekend and they can have a little break for the usual cross weather up north. I have to say that Redline had a very SUCCESSFUL weekend(along with Chad's birthday!). I had a win on Saturday and Kristi 3rd and Chad placed 4th in the elite 35+. And on Sunday the big boys rolled in. Mr. Ryan Lapierre showed off his unbelieveable bike and took the hole shot in the UCI elite race while Russell took a commanding lead then got reeled in by a Jittery Joes rider that happened to gap Russell on the last lap. And in Kristi and my race, I fought hard to stay with cyclocross superstar Rachel Lloyd, but I only managed to stay with her for 1 1/2 laps then blew up and finished in 4th with Kristi right behind me in 5th. We had a great time for team bonding. Cant wait to travel up to Portland to get on their ground!
And thaaaaaats all folks! Sorry for not posting! I'll do better next time!
And for today I'll leave you with one of my new favorite tunes...
It's that time of year again!...cyclocross season! I'm sooo excited! and the start off the season I'm heading up to Washington for a back to back weekend cross race. StarCrossed on Saturday and Rad Cup on Sunday! I'll be sure to that all the photos imaginable!
Well the flight leaves tomorow at 8, better get some sleep...
peacee.
lots of work. Been doing all my summer assignments all summer and its time to turn it in then get more work. I'm just trying to get back into the swing of things and getting in order.
I can see it now....its going to be a hectic year! But I'm gonna make it one way or another.
Tomorrow is.....Jr. State TT Championships =/
why have a TT championship at the end of the year? So unmotivating....
